Model 19 Grips
I about to refinish the stock wood grips on my Smith model 19. Can anyone offer some assistance in the best method to remove and reinstall the S&W logos in the grip?
Thanks Mike |

The new ones are riveted to thin metal "cups" and a bit hard to remove, but very careful filing with a safeside file (one that has no serrations on one side) can cut the pin down enough to get them out and still allow for re-installation. Be careful when removing the medallions themselves not to pull out a piece of wood. Take it slow and careful.

couldn't you just mask them? seems like a lot of trouble to remove them. i was thinking of refinishing mine also, but think i'll just tape them up prior to finish removal.
