Marlin 336 rc

I acquired a Marlin 336. It is in good shape but I cannot move the lever. Took the rifle apart and cannot see anything apparent, some wear. It acts like the locking bolt is not releasing, any thoughts.

Try to find a local gunsmith or call Marlin. Could be corroded, have you tried spraying some Break Free CLP or PB Blaster on it & letting it soak in? Do you have any paperwork that shows a breakdown of parts? Might be able to google it & find one on line. Good luck.

See if the screw on the side (not sure the name of it) it tight. It's known to loosen up and if it does it'll lock up the lever.
