Anybody shoot the small grip Redhawks?

I've been thinking about one of the 45 Colt/ACP Redhawks. The one things that gives me pause is the grip. It's a round butt design and I haven't been able to handle one.

Does anyone here have experience with them? If so, what are your thoughts?

Great for lower-recoil loads.

The convertible .45 is not fun with that grip & .45 "Magnum"-level buffalo-stompers.

Curious about the accuracy of the 45acp. Expect 45 colt to be pretty good (~1"-1,5" at 25 yards) but have concerns about the acp

See previous discussions.
ACP accuracy is highly variable.
In two samples I had, ran from a little over 2 inches to several inches at 25 yards.

You can also look for the Kindle book on it on Amazon.
Full details & performance.

If the Redhawk is anything like the Blackhawk, have no worries. My Blackhawk is more accurate with the .45 auto rounds than with the .45 Colt, and both are very accurate indeed. Granted, that's with two different cylinders, but since both come from the same barrel I would expect at least good accuracy from the Redhawk. I'll watch for more comments from those who have the Redhawk, as i would love to own one eventually.

This Redhawk is nothing like the Blackhawk in ACP.

The Red uses a single cylinder for both calibers & the Blackhawk uses two, with each being dedicated & set up for each caliber.

See previous post above & search previous discussions on this forum.
Or, buy that Kindle & get the whole story in detail.

I have a Redhawk in .45 Colt. They (it did) benefit greatly from opening up the throats and handloading.

I've never shot .45ACP in it though, but I've been meaning to get moon clips and try it.

Is yours an earlier 45 Colt Redhawk or a new ACP/Colt version?
