New Toy Time
I picked up my first pistol a couple of years ago, and have been a gunnut ever since. I find myself at local gunshops and gun shows quite alot. I've been looking to get into a full frame 9mm for a range gun. I've handled the Beretta 92fs and the CZ-75bd and can't decide between the two. This won't be a carry gun, I just want to add a fullframe 9mm. What are some pro's and con's between the two, or does anyone like another option? Thanks folks...

I'll point out a couple of things:
The CZ feels better in the hand for me, not saying the Beretta is bad but the CZ is better. The CZ has a shorter profile on the slide which bothers some people. The Beretta has had issues with the locking blocks snapping but it takes some good usage and they have redesigned them to make them better. The Beretta has the slide mounted safety which bothers some people. The CZ suffers from hammer cam, the hammer will move back before moving forward when the trigger is pulled. They both can be tuned to have trigger pulls lightened, the Beretta is easier with just the D spring. They are both reliable good range guns and I'd own both if I could. |

Have a look at the CZ SP01. It's the more modern version of the 75 with updated features. I had a BD for a decade BTW, great gun. However I feel there's really no need for a decocker if you're careful with lowering the hammer, so a regular safety version is fine.
Also my P01 does everything my 75bd did, in a lighter package. |

You wont go wrong with either platform. I'm partial to CZ's though and can't recommend them highly enough.

both are great. i definitely prefer the ergonomics, trigger, and sights on the cz tho. swap out the factory plastic grips for the factory rubber ones, and you will think they made the gun just for you.
