Spring Trick

I`ve got an old Colt trooper. I`ve decided to change the main spring & hammer spring in the gun. At one time , if I remember correctly, there was a procedure that made it easier to compress the hammer spring. I cant find it on the forum, maybe I`m suffering from CRS again. "CRS" Cant remember sh- -!

There have been a number of "tricks" to compress that spring, most of dubious utility. I just use a pair of flat nose pliers with padded jaws.
