Reloader 11 in the .30-06 ---
Anybody have any luck and accuracy with RX 11 in the .30-06 ?
I see it listed as an accuracy load with several bullet weights in an older Lyman Reloading manual. Thought I might try it since IMR 4064 and IMR 4895 is scarce. Is it better than RX 22 - especially with 150gr bullets ? Thanks |

I've said it in other posts but I absolutely love IMR 4895 in the 30-06. I've tried it with 150gr and 180 gr bullets with the 180s being my favorite. You could try IMR 4064 also. Reloader 19 might be a good powder too or even IMR 4320. Seems 4320 is somewhat available.

No body has had any luck in quite some time... It was discontinued a long time ago.

If you can find it try IMR 4350, RL19. Those are the ones I get the most accuracy out of 150 grain pills.

Depends on the gun...
If talking about a M-1 in .30-06, this is dangerous advice. The burn rate is far too slow and WILL CAUSE damage to the M-1. T. |

Speer #8 has loads. Burns about same as IMR 3031, slightly lower pressure/velocity by weight. 30/06 loads up to 150gr. 30/40, 300 Savage, 308 Win. loads up to 200gr. bullets,in all cases burns within 1gr. of IMR 3031. I'd give it a try starting with min. IMR 3031 charges.

We have been doing very well with 4831 as well as 4350. 4831 somewhat better generally (we are talking 1/4 inch differences so not huge). A bit of a sleeper. Frankly with the powder outage I am taking what I can get and 4831 has popped up 3 lbs (two at the store and an older can that was still fully sealed and looked perfect and no odor)
And of course per TimW77 check to be sure 4831 is good for the M1 if you use it (we don't so its not a factor but it does become critical to know with the M1s) |
