springfield ?

ok so lets see who's smart a man has a old hammerless doubble barrle action there is the word sringfield stamped on one side. In the inside where the barrel breaks it's stamped t 1653 and has the letter I in a small cirrcle on the under side. who can tell me the year and modle

It sounds like a Savage/Stevens/Springfield Model 311 made in 1957 to me.

thanks my research says the same however i thought it may have been a 511 i guess it's time to call numrich and get to work
