...at 12 ga. 2 3/4" 8 shot target load? My dad and I would like to start loading our own, but are extremely confused about the powder choices. What do you guys use in this situation? All we do now is shoot trap. We use a Mossberg 500 with a 28" bbl and a Imp cyl choke. Clue me in please.

Though I do not load shotgun shells anymore I do shoot some Sporting Clays when I am getting ready for Dove Season. Most of the guys that do reload seem to use Hodgdon powder if I remember correctly. They use Clays and International Clays with a few using Universal Clays.

Check out Green dot. Less recoil than Red dot and tighter patterns. Hodgdon stuff is good also.
