what surplus 30 round magazines to invest in?

Hey guys-

I have a Saiga converted ak 47. What is a good, reliable, hard surplus 30 round magazine to invest in? Need to stock up

Bulgarian Circle 10s are arguably the best AK mags out there. They are a bit pricey but are worth it IMHO. do yourself a favor and buy a few of them versus cheap tapcos and such. You will come out better in the end.

Whatever you can find for a good price. Now isn't the time to have the luxury of picking and choosing magazines, that is unless you want to pay $100-$150 a mag on gunbroker.

I get the same feeling. Half the people that bought high cap pistols and rifles, high cap magazines, or cases of ammo, will never even shoot them. Really sucks for the people who want to just pick up a box or two of ammo for the range or grab an extra mag or two.

I have heard of the Bulgarian circle 10's....just want some good rugged steel surplus ones. I don't hoard either. I get what I need and be done with it. I guess some good surplus steel mags would be Russian? I have heard of tapco too, just didn't know how tough they were. Thats basically what I am after- tough, rugged, reliable.

Any steel Communist block mag is going to work. Russian, E. German, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Romanian, Yugoslavian or Polish, even Chinese. Romanian are not finished as nicely but work and are probably the least expensive.

If.....and I think it is a very big if.....there is a ban on high capacity magazines it most certainly would be an investment because I guarantee you you could get way more than you paid for them and if you need them in the future you got them. I am not trying to add fuel to the buying panic, but lets be real.

Everybody that says people who are buying what they can now are going to feel pretty stupid if nothing happens are going to feel pretty stupid themselves for not buying if somthing does happen....

Some would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it......make your own choice....

ridege-runner---I understand. Investment as in needing the mags, not to hoard them and make the other guy have none or cant get none. Wouldnt and never will be that guy that sells all the mags, guns, and ammo for twice or even triple the price just because this over-bloated gov. thinks we are the peasants and they are in control.

Plametto pride---- well said, I agree. Just looking for some good quality dependable steel mags for ak 47.

looks like either steel from someone's stash that they might be selling or tapco polymer one's.

Rather have the steel

Lets invest in some support for a reasonable question. We need to stick together in these days of forces trying to separate us...

Any mag that you can find and afford is probably the only plan these days, but better days are ahead ... hopefully!

I 100% agree. I am in the process of selling two guns and I am asking fair prices for both, if anything I could charge more and still be charging a fair price. Have no interest in ripping someone off just to make a few extra bucks.

Its definitely an investment. I would not buy any atm unless you can find metal ones for under 10bucks. I try to buy em in big lots so that the parts are interchangeable and to get a better deal. I bought 100 yogo 30 rounders 2 years ago for 500 bucks. Not pristine condition but averaged very good I would say.

Wait until things calm down in a few months and pick em up then imo.

Even though the "red dawn" mags are good collector item's, I've heard that they are not that reliable --- at least the AK-74 mags --- which have been reported to "glow" in the Afghan moonlight.
