Lighter than 185 grain 45acp ???
Is there anyone out there that sells a bullet less than 185 grain for 45ACP?

There are some cast lead bullets from various commercial casters. Barnes and Magtech make .45 bullets less than 185 grains.

KEAD bullets makes a 160 grain SWC for the .45 ACP.

I use a 155 gr. LTCSWC (.452") bullet from Laser-Cast that makes a great target round. There is no doubt where the holes in the paper begin and end. It's like you took a large paper punch to the target.
The only problem I had with them was finding the proper OAL because the shoulder is so sharp it was tending to be headspacing on the bullet instead of the case. My loading data for that bullet is: 7.0 gr. Universal WLP primer Starline brass 1.240 OAL |
