Reloading .45 Super
I have a Mech Tech CCU 16.5" upper Chambered in .45 ACP. I am going to be reloading .45 Super rounds for deer/hog hunting. Where I hunt there are not many shots over 75 yards.
I'm still new to reloading so I have a question that I hope y'all can help with Looking at the reloading data I have it says to use 10.5gr of Power Pistol with a 185gr Remington Golden Saber. But from what I understand Power Pistol is made for shorter barrels. Being that this load will be for a .45 Super Carbine with a 16.5" barrel would it be better to use a different powder? Thanks in advance for your help Tim |

I use the PP for +P loads in my Marlin Camp 9 and .45 it does great. I haven't (and won't) shoot the Super in my Camp - +P is plenty 'nuff power.

no (boing)
Power Pistol is an utterly 'correct' choice for 45 Super, but ensure your carbine is set up and sprung correctly before launching any (I got a pic of a blowed-up one in another computer...).
(The "boing" refers to the sound made when firing the carbine; they're way-cool.)

When I looked into 45 Super and 460 Rowland, the go to powder was Power Pistol.
I use it for my +P loads of 45ACP. Works great. Also got a recipe from Alliant for 41 Mag. Just need to order the wolfe springs...
