brass collecting mat?
I recall seeing in a past issue of "American Rifleman" a product I would like to purchase. I have since donated my magazine and cannot recall the name. I have had poor luck with google as I do not even know what to call this device.
I can describe it as a mesh blanket or mat that you spread out on the ground in the area where your cases would be ejected. When done firing, I believe you could pull a string and the blanket/mat would cinch into a bag containing all of the brass that landed on it. Anyone have an idea what this might be called or where I could find one? Thanks in advance!

Sometimes what I use to gather my used brass is a high tech device, and I try to keep this under wraps and I don't tell everyone, but it is called a "Tactical Used Blanket". I tell people I have it specially made but really I get them at the Goodwill or Salvation Army for a pitance.
Minimal training is required to use this device, simply gather up all four corners of the blanket and all the brass magically spills towards the center so you can scoop them out. Lets just keep this between us TFL members....OK. |

seine would work, as would an old blanket or shower curtain. Depending on how you are shooting, you can rig about anything to corral your brass

When shooting my FN FAL, M1, auto-loading pistols, I need a blanket about 20 feet square in order to catch all my brass.

Got that right. My Garand throws brass into the next zip code.

My FAL launches the brass a good 15-20 feet, but is pretty consistant in where they land. I used to stick a wash-bucket down in place to catch all of the brash from an old AR I used to shoot; that seemed to hit the exact same spot everytime with its casings.
