Holster Material?
What is the best holster material to avoid wear on a nickel finish: leather (or lined leather), nylon etc.?
I will be looking for a holster for CCW for a Colt Python in pristine condition (though not NIB), a 4" nickel, and the carry will be for short periods, usually outside at night, so while holster should be concealable I will not be mixing with many people. Any specific thoughts on a reasonable choice? I think I'd prefer a hip carry (outside pants) Thanks Last edited by gvf; January 31, 2007 at 01:01 AM. Reason: addition |

Any holster material will cause finish wear. Suede-lined holster tend to hold dirt and accelerate wear.

I've had great experiences with kydex. I only have one leather holster and I rarely carry that pistol/holster setup, but there is already some holster wear. I've been regularly carrying all of my kydex rigs for about a year now and I have no noticable wear to speak of.
