I saw one of those advertised in a magazine and was really tempted, how much do they run?

Are they finally being released? I have been waiting for them to come out.

The rifle is very well made and the barrel is solid unlike some of the others that are out there.
The lower is exactly the same as the 556 except it is made out of polymer.
I have a early 556 and the forearm from the 522 fits on the 556 but the 556 don’t fit on the 522. It could be that the new 556 might work on the 522.
The reason I tried is because I was going to order the quad rail for the 556 and mount the one from the 556 to the 522. It is more accurate than my 10/22 and I am now getting rid of my colt ar22 to get a second sig for the wife to shoot. I paid 550 with tax which was 50 more than I paid for the colt. well worth it

Does anyone know of a quality cheek rest for the collapsable stock on the 522? The tube seems too thick for the 556 cheek rest to work...
BTW I'm using it suppressed (tac 65) and never had so much fun shooting It has standard 1/2 x 28 threads under the flash suppressor and a nice wide shoulder to butt up against

Is the entire stock polymer? Handguards too, etc.. ?

They look awesome. I would be interested in a range report...

What about the mag capacity?

I just picked mine up Monday but I didn't pay what I see that others have paid for theirs. Not even close. I saw where some guy in California gave $650 for his.

The upper is AL the frame and forearm are polymer. I have mounted a 4x12 scope and it will clover at 100 yards. The trigger block looks the same as the 556. This is a very good shooter, and is very easy to clean. The mag holds 25 rounds. The folding stock is nice. As far as I can tell it is a 556 with some changes to make it a 22. so far 1000 rounds no problems at all

I got mine for 449 locally. They are still hard to find. The swat rail will not fit onto it. There is a small overhang on the swat rail that doesn't have clearance to drop in next to the rail on the reciever. It's about a quarter inch. If you remove this material it fits fine.

The sig hooded front site will fit but the adjustment knobs will not fit. The bolt is too short. It fits pretty snug so it won't fall out you just have no side to side adjustments.

The sig diopter rear site mounts with no issues.

The 522 actually has a rear sling loop on the gun and not just the stock. This should have been on the 556 series.

So far the gun has been pretty sweet. I recommend it.

Picked up my second 522 it has green handguard and ect. Very nice
I am giving my black one to the wife I think the green one looks cooler
And she don’t care. These things are like the best. I have 1500 rounds through the black and about 400 through the green and I have had no problems at all except I hate cleaning rifles.

I finally managed to find one this weekend. Paid $465 for it. At the range I ran a variety of ammo through it. Everything functioned. I also ran it suppressed with subsonics and it still functioned without issues. Finally someone has figured out how to make a 22 that runs right out of the box. Best part is that the mags are made by Black Dog for SIG so the standard Black Dog mags that are out there for the AR conversions will work.

Anymore range reports? I may pick one up today. My local funstore has two for $485.00 each and I've been wanting a good .22lr for a long time and I cant decide on which one to get. The Sig feel better than the S&W 15-22 and the Colt AR22 and I dont want a conversion for my AR-15.

i just bought a sig 522 new for $368. cycles any .22lr ammo. from cci to cheap winchester bulk. both of those where very accurate in my 522 with a $40 red dot site.

i shot 950 rounds total so far. combination of cci mini mags, remington thunder bolts, fed champion, and the winchester bulk. i had one failure to feed with the very first 25 round mag with cci minimags! a couple mags later i had a stove pipe with the winchester. i set the bolt back over night to speed up the break in period. the only other malfunctions i had since where failure to fire with thunder bolts and those where few.

haven't had a chance to try the fed bulk from wal mart yet but i can say that winchester "333" in the red box are very accurate in my 522.

I saw one at my local gun shop. they want 529.99 for it.

It feels great in my hands, but I passed because it does not come with iron sights. So that is another 100 bucks.

the end of the world comes and batteries will be hard to get.

I went for the Colt M16 22 made by the beloved Germans. Can never go wrong with German made anything.

I have a S&W M&P 15-22 (in addtion to two other 22LRs) and the Sig 522 is the only one in the Tactical 22/Ar-22 styles I would add to my collection, I know it's that good, from reading so many great reviews and touching one a little. Expensive and also I have a LOT invested in my pride-and-joy 15-22 but if i just won $500 ~ $1000 I could see that added to my collection. Can't go wrong with more .22's, especially a great make like Sig.

I just got my SIG 522 from Bud's Gun Shop online. I got the OD Green with a 30 rd. mag. It came with 3 rails for various upgrades. I going to buy some CCI mini mags and break her in tomorrow.

Too bad these are made in the United States by a manufacturer of airsoft guns.

Sig 522 swat

I am interested in the 522. I was going to get the S&W MP1522 but it was all plastic. Did not feel good to me.

Tell me about how the SWAT is constructed. What is metal, what is polymer etc.

Thanks in advance for your help

Love my 522...... Much heavier than my friends mp 15-22.
Feels more like a real rifle.
Only thing that is slightly annoying is the bracket that holds the stock in the folded position is a bitch to unlock to unfold stock.
You have to really tug on it.
Only large piece of polymer is the lower... Quad rail is aluminum..... Sights are good but I did replace them with Mbus sights.... Added Bushnell red dot and some magpul goodies.
I shoot all types of ammo through her and she does not miss a beat.
Great gun you will love it.... Mike

Shown here with my Windham weaponry src..... Also a great gun.
Sent from my tricked out Synergy Evo!

Couple of years ago I did a steel match at Sig. One of the stages had a 522 set up with a red dot. That rifle worked like a charm. I never saw the safety guy clean it all day. Over 60 guys went through that stage with the 522. I talked to SO running that stage and he said the 522 outperformed the Ruger 10/22s they used the last time.
