Good ear protection in the $30-$50 range?
Up until now I've been using some cheap earmuffs I picked up at Wal-Mart. They were good enough for quite a while, but recently I've been shooting at an indoor range where the closed space makes everything much louder. I've got some inner ear plugs which are pretty good, but now I need something higher end for the outer set. Any suggestions?

Peltor ultimate 10, and Howard leight L3. both are excellent and a good value for the money.

I use Howard Leight impact sport electronic earmuffs at an indoor range. I like being abl to hear RO commands easily while still protecting my hearing. These are low profile so they work well with rifles, too. I do sometimes double up with plugs underneath depending upon what others are shooting nearby.

I've used these for probably 30 years now. They were the best in the business back then. Probably still good now, but if I didn't have these I'd likely look at Leight units. Silencio Magnums

Whatever you choose make sure they offer the highest noise reduction possible. Many models only offer 21db or so noise reduction. That is not alot when your firearm can be putting out 140+ not to mention the person on either side of you. Do that in an indoor range for a couple of hours and your hearing can be affected.
