I carry a pistol or 2 sure, but I also carry pepper spray and a cell phone.
I take the cell phone when I am out because I yell real loud at people when I get mad, and my favorite thing to yell is, "I AM CALLING THE POLICE ON YOU RIGHT NOW" Then when they hear their loacation and description being related to 911, they stop making so much troubel. Recently, I witnessed an injury and I called 911 again. The cops were there is 5 minutes. |

When I go out I always carry my Kimber Ultra Carry, one spare mag, Benchmade folder knife, Surefire flashlight, cell phone and my CCW license. Why... because I was a Boy Scout and I'm always prepared.

One or two pistols, reloads for each, a cell phone, swiss knife, and a GPS.
(BANGBANG!...BANG!) (Beepbeepbeep) "Yeah, I need a meatwagon at latitude yadda-yadda north, longitude yadda-yadda west... no, I don't have a street address, sorry." |

Coinneach,
And you can give the 911 opperator your exact GPS coordinates thanks to the fact that selective availability has been turned off. |

Last time I called the cops (and waited for 'em to arrive), it took 20 minutes...

Ruger P95, spare hi-cap, trusty MagLite, and a Leatherman Micra on my keychain. Recently I've also been carrying the Columbia River M16-13 folder I picked up at a bargain price. My wife carries our cell phone plus a Kel-Tec P32 and another Maglite.
I won't carry OC, because if I ever have to use the Ruger I don't want some lawyer claiming that I had a nonlethal option and chose instead to kill because I'm one of those gun nuts. I can argue that the knife was not an option because it's too dangerous to close to contact distance. |

Cell phones are good for calling help in for other people you don't feel like helping yourself. Or for a tow truck. They don't do much good if you need help yourself NOW!
Besides weapons I always carry Leatherman Micra, Delica, and mini cig lighter [I don't smoke so they last a long time]. With a knife and a fire making tool life is pretty easy. |

Kalifornia .. Legal
I'm left with my SERE 2000 (Sifu on the way) and a cell phone. I've considered a cane for more dangerous situations, such as roadside breakdown.
So, what is the routine with the cigarette lighter? Never touched one myself. It seems to fill a niche separate from the knife. I gather that it is a slightly longer range weapon. Yes??? Went out and bought a five pack of lighters. When I was a kid they had a flame adjustment on them. I don't think that these will be of much use. [Edited by Gary H on 01-11-2001 at 10:37 PM] |

I made a cell phone call to 911 and that was the last time I left the house without my little buddy. Flipping cops never did show up.....I sleep with my Little buddy now and I take her everywhere. My Little buddy is about as close as you can get to a derringer....But she holds 10 rounds of 45acp. My girlfriend carries the same weapon, God forgive me if she is ever my Backup. I think I taught DOUBLE TAP to much. She knows center of Mass and A & B zones better than I do.
I think I shall go shopping for shoes, I forgot that you shouldn't teach them everything :-) [Edited by Karsten on 01-25-2001 at 02:26 AM] |

Two pistols, a knife, and a cell phone. The knife is a tool, primarily, and only incidentally a weapon. Used to also carry a pepper spray, but I gave it to a young lady and haven't yet replaced it.
