Anyone else have a Smith &Wesson 3000 Shotty?
Just picked up a parkerized S&W 3000 Police Trade In shotgun. Just wondered if anyone else has one. Seems like info is very limited on these. Anyone know how to tell what year it was made?
Thanks |

A 3000 Police trade in? Unless I'm off on my dates, that would make it at least 35 years old or more.
I believe those guns were made for S&W by Howa in Japan. I also think that Mossberg bought the rights to and made that gun in the US for awhile in the 80s. I am out of knowledge... C

I have a civilian version of that gun that I bought in 1989 or so at a gun show. I think it was 10 or so years old at that point. I have seen a police version at my local gun shop the last couple times I've been in.

I had one that I bought brand new and wish I'd never sold it. Good little shotguns for the money. I think I paid $125 back in the day.

The parkerized S&W 3000 I had years & years ago was a Remmy 870 clone, that had a 20" bbl w/rifle sights.
No "corncob" forend - though I can't remember if it was checkered or smooth. I used it in my state's shotgun-only deer seasons for almost 10 years, before moving on to a Beneli Super 90 M1 Slug Gun. . |
