Ruger P97DC polishing question

I have a Ruger P97DC and was thinking about polishing the feed ramp to help with some feeding problems. Is this something that I can do myself? I have a dremmel with the polishing kit. I have never done any gunsmithing but I would think simply polishing a feed ramp would be an easy task. If this is something I can do how much of a polish should I put on it? The dremmel can easly put a mirror shine on most metals. Also if any of you guys have any tips on other minor improvements that I could do at home I would love to hear them. Thanks
