Mixing brass
Is there any difference in accuracy if I mix lets say brass that has been fired 2 times and brass that has been 4 times? Talking about rifle cases of course! I've been getting mixed reviews from the more "wisdom" based ols timers at my local range.

as a brass tinkerer..... I would put this way..... if the brass is all the same manufacturer i would say little effect on accuracy as long as they are trimmed to the same tolerance (case length and necks trimmed the same) and as long you look signs of case fatigue....
If you mix manufactures your accuracy will suck..... due to a variety of case weights |

Depends.
For my "ultimate accuracy" loads in rifle, especially 30-06, I keep brass separated, and load accordingly, based upon headstamp. For my top-shelf rifle reloads, I do keep the brass separate every time I load and fire it--but that's just for my own tinkering. My hunting loads get loaded up then locked in my ammo cabinet. Ten hunting loads for deer can last me three to five years. I loaded up ten loads for elk over fifteen years ago. I still have seven of them left. For my handgun target rounds, I keep the brass separated by headstamp but not by number of times fired. For all other handgun brass, I'm too lazy to sort it out. It either works or it doesnt. Plus, it gives me a convenient excuse for any "flyers" that appear on the target. (grin) Jeff

I only use Remington brass for my hunting loads and I do keep them separated as to number of times they've been loaded. My just goin shootin ammo I don't separate anything. I have a hodge podge of brands and ages and they're all mixed up.
