High point .40

On a Prepper/Survivalist forum I post on a member asked about his new High Point .40 having some bent and one split shell cases . I do not know what kind of ammo . Then another poster said his High Point .45 bulges cases and said it is due to large chambers to insure propper feeding . I have never had or shot one but folks I know that do like them . Any info on this would be helpful . I told them I would " research " it and this is as good of place as any because of the volum of traffic .

I've never had an issue out of my .45. It's fed a steady diet of steel cased tulammo. The only issue I had was a couple of failures due to shooting over 800 rounds without cleaning it. I cleaned it properly and back to normal it went.

Hi-Points are not pretty but they are inexpensive and go bang when you pull the trigger.

I have the .40... No feeding or extraction problems with mine.

Unless you're a reloader, slight bulging may not cause big problems.

If you are a reloader, it could cause problems.

I have never gotten any bulged, split, or otherwise damaged cases from my HP995. I would suggest that your friend call or email HP directly.
