I was thinking about building my own 1911 .45 pistol and was wonderinng about different comp gun kits, what are some good ones and where can I buy them at?

Get the new Brownells catalog. They have dozens of pages of 1911 stuff...

If you like the hi-caps, STI and SV both have kits. Sti will sell pre-fitted frames and slides or "short block" kits that require very little final finishing.

Like DeBee said, it would be worth the trouble to get a current Brownell's catalog and browse through your options.
