.308 Accuracy/Power question.

I've been looking around for a powerful yet accurate load to load for my Savage in .308. I've been playing with different grain weights for bullets and have been enjoying the 150. Ive been getting Quarter sized groups with factory ammo (Federal Premium 150 Gr Speer Grandslams) and want to workout a load for practice with the 150 grain SMK's I got and apply it to a hunting load for wild Pig and Deer here in CA for use with Barnes Triple Shocks.

Lyman is saying H-380 is the most accurate, but its only running about 2607 FPS and I'm worried I wont have enough umph to crush through a boars skull or shoulders.

I've heard good things about Reloader 15's accuracy and its around 2800FPS ... any other ideas?

There's lots of good powders for .308

I've had the best results with Varget, which is very similar to RL 15. With 150 grain bullets WW748 is another excellent choice. I really like how well WW748 meters through the measure, no trickling required.
Take Care

I have excellant results with loads for my 308 using RE-15 and BLC(2)

With the Re-15...using 150gr Sierra 'Match' at 2700fps....my "particular" rifle cuts clover leaf groups at 100yds.....
