I hope this picture comes out, it's pretty neat so I thought I would share it with you guys.
Some freinds of my daughter in Texas found it next to the hiway where it's mother had been run over.
Going to give it to the wildlife department, and they told her it was a 1 in a million deer, and would get special treatment for raising.

My daughters tennis shoe is a size 5 1/2 in the background.

I think it's gonna need some pepper. They are very tender at that age.

I had doe rights at a lease I was visiting as a guest last year. A nice high hat 10 pointer played the "you can't shoot me game" for about 10 minutes. I don't know if I could have restrained myself from shooting if it were an albino.

Beautiful deer. I bet it live a very long and "horny" life.

i was watching Real TV i think, that or it was a hunters program, i forget which. had footage from near a deer feeding area, of an albino buck deer that chased away all other deer and once they were gone an albino doe came out and ate alongside the albino buck.

i'm sure that footage is online somewhere if one wanted to google for it.

There must be more to this! We have a young girl on our lease that shot a albino deer. It was her first deer. the next year a hunter saw a albino deer but let it go!

Kinda like the black squrriel. Which is a gray squrriel. Or maybe a red squrriel?

I believe they are a bit more common than one might think. An old Indian belief (not sure what tribe, or even if it is any more than hearsay) is that shooting an albino deer will result in bad luck hunting for the next X seasons. One of my uncles shot one in the early 80s and suffered from nodeeritus for the next 5 yrs. Dad arrowed a piebald buck which was predominately white, and saw nothing but young does for the next 2 seasons. Last season my uncle arrowed an albino 8 pt. We'll keep you posted on how he does next season.

Wild Bill, have you posted this pic someplace else or perhaps had it published in a magazine, recently?? I saw this pic some place before.

There use to be a herd of albino deer on a mans place out of Catherine Alabama, back in the late 60s. There were some pretty big racked bucks in the group too. I am not sure that they were "full bloodied" albinos as exemplifed by the pink eyes.

We do have an occasional blotched one show up, they are called bi-bald, I think. Bout as; rare as the occasional racked doe.

Sorry about getting back to you guys, but I had the flu for the last two days, and have been unable to do anything but grunt and moan. so my wife will take care of me.

Daughter could have posted the picture before, I'm not sure. I got it from her via E-mail, so it could be every where.

We have a Army Base where I live that has a strain of white deer, called fallow deer. They are not legal to shoot. They do not have pink eyes,which is supposed to be, the real albinos. They are scattered across large portions of the U.S. mostly on game management areas. I am sure some of the white deer that people see are probably fallow deer.
Certain areas may yeild a larger portion of albino deer, but I have hunted in Oklahoma for 50 years, and seen a lot of deer, and this was a first for me.

It came from around one of the Islands off the Texas coast, and daughter says there was a lot of interest and pictures. So pictures could be everywhere.Attachment 17609

Very well could be, though that's not my heritage. Anyway my uncle who shared it with me backed it up with a pretty convincing story of what happened to someone he knew that had killed and eaten one--the guy had a slew of unfortunate things happen to him and died in a hunting accident within 1 year. Weird. I saw this same picture a few months ago. I've also seen some Photoshop renderings such as the deer surrounded by fire to make it look evil.

Just thought it was a neat picture, but if certificate of authinticity is required, I will hold daughter on floor and beat her until she owns up to this evil plot.

I once seen a white deer while hunting but left it alone. It was a button head buck. That deer stood out like a sore thumb in the woods. I have often heard that is bad luck to kill one, but if I saw a big buck in the woods it would be tempting.

The seneca army depot in New York has a captive herd of all white deer. They are not albinos but true white deer. The army base was enclosed in fence decades ago and all the deer inside the fence ended up white.

Now they had started to tear down the base and sell off the land. We are not sure what is going to happen to the deer herd.
