AR trigger problem

I received a trigger group from a friend and put it in my Colt AR, he had worked the trigger to lighten it and remove the creep. The problem is the trigger won't reset by itself after firing a shot. I have to pull the trigger again very slightly and release it for it to reset.
What would cause this ?

It sounds like the disconnector hook might be sticking on the hammer somehow. When the trigger is released, this should release, and allow the sear to drop in at the bottom of the hammer. I would look to see if that area has been filed or stoned to an incorrect angle, or even bent.
