Rifled slugs in rifled barrels

I've noticed that some brands of slugs state that they're to be shot in smooth bore barrels. Does it hurt the rifling of a barrel to shot rifled slugs through them?

It won't damage the barrel, but you are going to have lots of leading to clean out of the lands and grooves. Also you won't get the kind of accuracy you would get from shooting a sabot slug from the rifled barrel.

Thanks for the information. I recently purchased a Taurus .45LC/.410 revolver with a 6.5 inch barrel. Never thought that I'd buy a Taurus, (their quality seemed to me to be just OK) but the concept seemed 'unique" enough that I try one. Is there anything else you can think of that might be useful?

Only advice I can give you for shooting a .410 shell through a 6.5" bbl revolver is to hold on tight. Them things got a wild recoil.

Yeah my concern would be accuracy or lack thereof. go with the sabot slugs and youll be much happier.

LOL I was thinking the same thing. A .410 sabot slug would be like a .22 caliber bullet probly.

If you want a solid projectile from the .45/.410 revolver I'd just go with a good +P load in .45 Colt and then use buckshot when you're shooting .410. Of course I've only seen buckshot in 3" so that might be problematic too.
