What gun/dress belt do you use?

I have a Crossbreed belt that I love. However I'd like to widen my scope a bit and ask around to what you guys are using for gun belts? I wear mine daily for work with kahkis but am looking for a black belt for another option.

Try Googling "mechanics belt".I ran across these a couple of years ago and now they are all I wear and I carry daily! Got a couple of them.

I also have a Crossbreed. I love it. By far the best belt I've ever owned. 3 1/2 years old, as good as new.

I went to Stein Mart and bought a real leather belt. I spent about $15 on it and have no complaints.

Holds up my .44's, and even the 45-70 BFR. No complaints, other than one of the big threaded rivets came unscrewed and had to be replaced.

My normal mode of dress would probably be called "business casual", i. e., khakis and a dress shirt. So I prefer a reasonably nice belt. My usual belt is from El Paso Saddlery. I also have some belts from Galco and Milt Sparks. And I like the five-stitch instructor's belt from The Wilderness for more casual wear.

In any case, a stout belt designed to support a gun and holster is, IMHO, pretty much a necessity.

I didn't realize how much a good belt makes a difference until I got one. I have no problem paying good money for a belt, it's money well spent IMO

They're not cheap, but Filson makes some of the nicest-feeling leather belts on the planet. Sort of the equivalent of the rich, thick leather that women's Coach purses used to be made from. filson dot com

I wear a black Desantis. It's held up great, I wear it daily either plain with jeans, or while I'm working under my duty belt. (So in addition to holding several pounds of firearm during the day, it also holds a 30 lb duty belt 5 days out of 7, and has shown almost no wear!)

I'd say a few top brands & styles include; Ken Null, Thebeltman.net, 5.11 Tactical, Blackhawk, Galco, Mitch Rosen, Milt Sparks, Tex Shoemaker, Ted Blocker, Greg Kramer(horsehide).
Mitch Rosen(a former Wall St stockbroker) is widely known for gun belts that taper to a thin 1.25" width in front to aid concealment.

TheBeltman site is very popular. 5.11 & Blackhawk sell gun belts with polymer inserts to hold firearms secure.

Bullhide Belts. Recently stepped up from a 5.11 'tactical' belt. It's a world of difference. It's one piece, looks great (definitely dressy enough; I wear it to work and just out), and really stands up to weight of a gun and accessories. Can't praise them enough.

I use an 'elcheapo' belt bought at Target (heavy 1-1/2" leather, light 1-1/4", even thin 1") for about $10. The support for my hand gun(s) carried comes from suspenders by Perry.

Thus far this has worked A+ for me, as I don't leave home without them. The side support suspender (outback) works just fine when I wear a sport coat, or suit.

Never thought of using suspenders with belt hooks. I have a few pairs, but they all have the clamp ends. I've used suspenders a few times while hiking to help distribute the weight of my bear gun. Hooking it directly to the belt seems like a better option.

Just order a pair of the Perry suspenders Hook686 suggested.
