Possibly the best scope value on the planet right now - Sightron @ Academy
Or possibly ever....It's the S2, 4.5-14x42mm, IRMD, AO.
Played another round of musical scopes last night & today after getting this scope yesterday for $199.95 (that's UNO-NINER-NINER), plus tax from Academy Sports: Found here *without* the IR feature for $349: http://www.bobwards.com/bobwards/ser...tures/88419-06 It is extremely impressive for the price: -Unique "two-full-turn" (720 deg) AO dials down to 10 yards -Mildot reticle, illuminated -Smooth magnification turn ring -Overall good quality build -Of course, good clear Japanese optics, including 7-layer FMC coatings -Comes with sunshade -Target knobs (1/4-minute clicks) -"Exact Trac" windage/elevation adjustments. -Lifetime warranty I slapped it on my CZ 453 Varmint in .17 HMR. Very pleased - need to go shoot it now. Maybe it was mismarked on the price? Maybe it should have been $299 or $399. If you have an Academy near you, you might check it out.... I can think of 2 or 3 other rifles that could use an upgrade to this scope if they stay in stock & I round up some money.... Last edited by FirstFreedom; July 22, 2007 at 06:43 PM. |

Bah, evidently it really is too good to be true. Must have been a closeout or something - I got the last one at one Academy; went to another Academy store, and they had none.

Looks likes you got a great deal. The Sightron's a good company with good scopes for the money. I've got a S2 3-9x40mm that I forgot about just sitting in the safe with a bent reticle (it's been so long ago I forgot how it got bent) but I called Sightron and they said sent it in and they'll fix or replace it for free no problem. Now when it gets back I just gotta figure out what to put it on, I think I might use it as an excuse to pick up another rifle.
