AR-10 malfunctioning with 'full-auto' bursts
Here's what they said:
"Adjust the trigger by following the instructions." I can't read everything and they aren't very professional, but I think I have it figured out. Mine was out of adjustment. Will test fire weapon again soon. |

Hmmm--again I'm not familiar with timney's tunable arrangement--but I'm guessing that it functions the same or very similar to other triggers in respects to sear engagement and disconnector timing.Since Murphy is my constant companion (meaning I personally would probably screw up on the first try--possibly the second as well ), I would be inclined to at least cycle the trigger a few times (while making sure the hammer doesn't strike the receiver) to test the actual timing adjustments prior to committing with the locktite--red sets pretty fast and is hard to release without a lot of heat. My less than 2 cents.
PS--Where the trigger engages the safety can also affect sear timing, I'd make sure while doing the adjustments your safety is properly set on "fire"as well making sure it will not allow the trigger to move when set to "safe" (hammer cocked)--and when the hammer is fully released after firing you should be able to move the safety only a 1/4 turn or half way from "fire" to "safe"--another reason I would do a settings check before locktiting the sear engagement timing screw down. Even after locktiting down--I wouldn't use the weapon for at least a day as the cycling forces can still knock the timing out upon "fresh adjustment" (which may be what happened to your trigger group in the first place)

well, apparently if you can time your trigger to double-tapping according to the ATF it's OK:
https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/fos...e-double-taps/ Wonder how it's patented since they are using existing designs and technologies to create a $500 trigger.
