Mauser M98 or 98K
In the build of my VZ24, I'm searching the net for a trigger unit, would it make a difference to install either the M98 or the 98K? What would be the difference in either set or is there no difference?

The M98 commercial trigger has a side safety, the K98 trigger does not. That is where the difference ends. If you want to put a lumpy "military" (many commercial M98 rifles had that same bolt shroud until the mid-1950s) bolt shroud with wing safety on the K98 instead of a streamlined "commercial FN" bolt shroud and side safety, that is your call.

I dunno.
I thought the Mauser 98 was the original 29" bbl rifle infantry rifle that was used in WW I and the 98K the karabiner (carbine) version with the shorter 24" bbl (issued in both WW). The story gets more confusing as the commercial version was also called the Mauser 98.

WW1 infantry rifle = Gewehr 1898/Gew98 = 29" barrel, slings vertically on shoulder, straight bolt handle
WW2 rifle/carbine = K98k (Karabiner 98 kurz= carbine, model of 1898, short barrel) = slings sideways on shoulder, 23" barrel, bent bolt Commercial rifles = M98 = Mauser 98, describes the action type, rather than a particular configuration of rifle. For commercial sporting arms, concern is usually more for parts fitting than for standardization of a military arm.
