What is the best book on S&W revolvers?,,,

I would like one that has good instructions on the disassembly and reassembly of the Models 10, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, & 629,,,
I know that sounds pretty gun specific but I would think one is pretty much like the other.

I just want to be able to open up an old S&W and clean/lube it and possibly to detect any problems with worn or broken parts.

Thanks gentlemen,,,

Jerry Kuhnhausen's "The S&W Revolver, A Shop Manual".
Not expensive and very thorough.

The Kuhnhausen manual will explain more than you ever wanted to know. Most importantly it will teach you what not to do and why.

Thanks Gentlemen,,,

I bought an old S&W last year and it was truly cruddy,,,
Not rusty mind you but old oil had solidified,,,
It cost me $60 to have it cleaned/lubed.

I used to work on delicate seismic instruments in the Air Force,,,
All I need is a good instruction manual to get started.

I hope the price of a book,,,
Will save me money in the future.

Thanks again,,,
