Bore scope?

Cabellas is selling a cheapy bore scope. Anyone here used one? Are they worth the price? I realize this bore scope is no $700 unit but is it good enough to see bore defects?

Thanks for any info.

For $50 it seems like a good buy. I would want to try one out first.

The problem is many people have no idea what they are looking at. What may be a rough bore will shoot just fine, one inch groups or less.

But the scope will show the leading/copper fouling in the bore and is great to take along when looking at a used rifle/sotgun.

It looked to me like it looks straight forward rather than at 90° to the tip, but it doesn't say one way or the other. If it looks straight forward you will look into the source of illumination. The source of illumination will be way out of focus, but I'm not sure whether it will cause glare or not? Guess you'll have to try it to see?
