Close thread option.
I was wondering if it's possible to add a function for people to lock threads they started themselves for whatever reason they deem necessary. And if it's not possible, why not? I have a few threads that just don't make anymore progress and instead of posting some meaningless icon to "bump" them up the new posts ladder, I would prefer to just close them and file them away in my subscriptions folder. How about it?

Why not just let them die a natural death.
Euthenization nor life supporting bumps would be necessary

? What? What do you mean? There are threads on this site from six years ago. Noone deletes or closes them unless they get off topic or at the openers request. I'm just saying let us close our own threads.

It's not possible for members to close threads, only moderators can do that. The software won't allow for that extension to a members available functions and we obviously aren't going to make everyone a moderator.
If you want one of your threads closed, PM one of the moderators of the forum it is in and ask them to do it. If they agree that a closure is in order, it will be done. |
