Turret presses...How accurate are they?

I like the idea behind a turret press and I own a Lyman turret (my first press).

But how accurate is the turret press? There is a slight amount of "rock" in the turret head and I'm just wondering if this could be a factor when making precision ammo.

Has anyone ever done a test to see just how well the turret head stays in line with the press ram?

I use a Lyman All American turret press. It has a bar with an adjustable bolt in the back that compensates for any play that it may have.

I also have older Lyman turret press with a rounder, six station, turret head. It doesn't have the adjustable bolt in the compensater, but so far it has performed flawlessly. All said, I still make sure to use the All American just in case....

I have an old Lyman Spart-T terret press that will not load rifle because of the torque/rock.

Their curreant manufacture is a good press for rifle or pistol. You can take a wrench and take the rock/slap out of the press but you will have to loosen it to change territs.
Use it and don't worry about it.
