What type of press do you use most?

Ok I am sure this poll has also been done before, but I am still a sucker for polls. What type of press do you do more reloading on? Single Stage, Turret, Progressive, Hand, or other (please explain).

If it is too close to call please pick your favorite.

Redding single stage gets used the most...............cause its the only press I own. I have used my brothers Dillon a bit, but 99% of my reloads are done on the Redding.

Single stage used to dominate, but it has been supplanted by a Redding T-7 Turret.

The Dillon 550 has a higher yearly round count, but actual use is a small fraction of the time spent on the Turret (or single stage).

I use an old Bonanza, single stage, about 50 years old. Why? Because I can turn out the best, most accurate loads with it. I don’t need to load several thousand rounds quickly, I don’t own a machine gun......

95% of the time I use a hand arbor press the other 5% when I have to bump the shoulders back on some calibers I use a body die/single stage press.

It's a tie between the RCBS RockChucker for Rifle and the Lee Classic Turret press for pistol.

I use a Lee Classic Turret press the most, but also have a Lee Breachlock Challenger single stage I use from time to time.

For many years I used a single stage. I now reload with 2 progressives (large primer and small primer), and of course the single for rifle ctgs.

I have a Dillon 550B but I only use it for handgun rounds so far. I use a very old RCBS Rockchucker for most everything else.

I also have a Lee hand press from the days when I didn't have a place to bolt down the other presses.

I spend much more time working up loads on the turret, but load more ammo on the XL 650.

I been using the dillon 550b also I have another powde rmessure from rcbs for handgun and they all do a good job for me.

Using the Dillon progressive more just due to the volume I shoot with the handguns. Spend just a little less time with single stage on all of my rifle rounds.

Rock Chucker for 40 years

Pro 2000 for the last three years. Rifle and Pistol. (9mm,.40,.45,.308,.223)

I do still use the RC for the calibers I haven't set up yet on the progressive, or don't shoot much anymore. (.357, .243, .270, 30-30, 30 carbine, .300 weatherby)

Ditto above for more pistol (and short rifle) rounds in the 650. But long gun cartridges get the Rock Chucker treatment since the early '70s.

Guess I am the only guy keeping Hornady in business. I use the single stage classic. I am also looking for another brand to add to my bench... Will probably get around to using them all before I die.(Single stage)

Have been using one press since 1977----rcbs "rock-chucker". Never had the need for anything else. I am sure my grandchildren will be using it long after i have passed on.

Pretty much exclusively handgun ammo, on a Lee Pro 1000.

For the last several years it's been one of two single stage presses. In the last few months I brought my Dillon out of retirement and loaded more rounds in a few weeks than I've loaded over the past few years, maybe longer. Sorry, couldn't make an answer fit.

I love my very heavy old C-H "O" frame, as well as the Forester Co-Ax. For revolver loads..Ponsness Warren Metal Matic. And for bullet seating the
.25-25 Stevens...Nothing better than an old nickle plated Ideal No. 3 Special!

all i can say is my bench has 3 single stage presses ,
1 is green

1 is orange

and the other is red.

can't afford a blue

I don't enjoy using the blue, adrians. It's a means to an end when large quantities are desired. I enjoy the time I spend with my green presses.

A Dillon blue for metallic cartridges, an orange Lyman sizer/lube press and four MEC progressive reds for shot shells.
