In my Lyman 47th they have no reloads listed with lead and 2400. They do with jacketed and they start at 146gr bullet up to the 160gr bullet. With the 146gr jacketed it's 9.0 to 10.0

My Hercules manual list the 158gr LSWC, 160gr JSP and 200gr LRN and thats in with 2400. The 158gr only list at 7.5grs of 2400.

I think I would try a different powder. 2400 is more of a magnum powder and a faster powder with lead will work better with the 38 special.

Something like unique, red dot, green dot, AA no5. There is a bunch of good powders for the 38 but I don't think 2400 is one. Well it would be ok for a heavy jacketed load! I love 2400 in my 45 Colt with 300 and 250gr jacketed bullets.

Good luck!

Apparently the Lyman #45 was the last manual to list 2400 with any bullet in .38 Special. The Lyman #46 lists the 141 gr. cast bullet, but not with 2400. I would stay away from that load.
