Shocker!... News report about Bruce Lee Jennings...
The Orlando Florida ABC station; http://tinyurl.com/95pfy86 , reports that Bryco founder; Bruce Lee Jennings of central FL was busted by US federal LE agents for child **** charges.
The detailed news article states the company was sued over a gun's use in a incident for approx $24mil. I'm not aware of the quality of these Bryco firearms but I've heard of the brand. It's sad but these crimes take place from all types of people. Clyde Last edited by Tom Servo; September 19, 2012 at 01:49 PM. |

Yeah, I just read the local news and saw that he apparently has "admtted that he knew the children were victims of abuse".
I'm glad the Feds came in and took his sorry butt. Hopefully, he'll get what's coming to him.

Note for everyone at the outset...
If your only contribution is moral outrage and a new and inventive way to punish the individual? That's off topic and won't be permitted in the discussion.

I have a Jennings J-22. I never know the thing was named after the owner - Bruce Lee Jennings. I usually know the design and production histories of most of my firearms - this one somehow got neglected.
I just read the article - I'll tell you, I have to wonder if the Fed agencies are using this type of thing to shut down or investigate certain firearms manufacturers. Here's some more information I found out doing a little digging: Homeland Security investigators said they found hundreds of images and videos of child pornography on computers and hard drives belonging to 63-year-old Bruce Lee Jennings, What the heck is Homeland Security doing investigating kiddy prn? I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time believing that this investigation and arrest was about kiddy prn. Update: I just checked this out - apparently Homeland Security "ICE" does investigate child pornography. Last edited by Skans; September 19, 2012 at 09:58 AM. |

Off topic but related...
It may be a bit off topic but the US Dept of Homeland Security is made up of many small & large federal LE agencies-offices.
From the US Secret Service to the US Border Patrol to the Federal Air Marshals Service. Online or criminal activity with computers being a DHS mission isn't a real surprise. They may have the skills & resources to arrest/convict these kinds of criminals. Id also say that 2A supporters or firearm industry members aren't being targeted or singled out. I'd speculate that for a formal federal LE investigation to be set up there'd be a lot of probable cause & material already. FWIW: Jennings was sued, lost his company and wasn't doing very well in the gun business at the time of his federal arrest. Clyde |

Tom has fixed the link. I must have missed something when I copied it.

I noticed the article called him a "renowned gunmaker." I would think the better adjective would be "infamous."

Mike- I apologize if my post was in any way offensive or was a reflection of "moral outrage". I was just commenting because the story was in my local news. I rarely post in the GD forum.
This has always been a great forum. I didn't realize that commenting on the crime was off topic.

I would say "inventive" - made cheap guns cheap. The whole Ontario California area cheap gun story is interesting. |

"I didn't realize that commenting on the crime was off topic."
Generally it's not, but please read, again, exactly what I wrote in my first post. Realistically, though, this is only peripherally related to firearms in that the alleged crime has nothing to do with firearms. As such, it would be very easy to stray off track. If you're still unclear, send me a private message.
