Reloading for Mini14

Need some help, Im looking at starting to reload for my mini 14 again. The powder I used before was IMR4198 and IMR3031, the problem is one powder work very good and the other would not cycle the the gun to load the next round and I do not remember what powder work best, or does any one know of a better powder to use.

Mini-14 load

I've had flawless functioning in all 3 of my Mini-14's with a load of 17.0 gr of BLC-2 powder, behind a 55 gr bullet, firm crimp. I dont reccommend you use this load, its for informational purposes only. This load is at or near max so THINK.
Happy Shooting!

What's your barrel twist? I shoot 62gr scbt out of my Mini 14 with 26.1gr of WC844. Its an exact duplicate of USGI M855. Last weekend I shot 69gr HPBT bullets with 24.3gr of AA2230. One shots 2 MOA with 5 shots and the other shoots 1MOA. Believe it or not. With barrel heat up the 69gr bullets spread up to 2.5MOA and the 62gr spread out to about 3MOA.

You can get everything I reload at www.wideners.com

I loaded a buttload of .223 for my Mini using 3 or 4 different powders & numerous bullet types. I used the midrange loads in Speer #12 Manual, all functioned flawless. One of the powders I used was IMR3031. That powder works very well in sooooo many calibers, but I've come to like Varget for the same reason.
