Smith&Wesson Mod. 66 gets new grips

Installed a set of Pachmayr, pro grippers today. Great feel and I am sure will be a real help at the range. Liked the looks of the wood better though!

There is a slight space between the bottom of the frame, K type square butt and the rubber grip bottom- is that the normal fit for these?

Can't wait to try them out.

Joe

Seems normal as I've seen the gap a lot. I've got Pachmyrs on two of my guns and love them for use. You're right though, the wood looks much nicer.

I had those grips on my 66. Sold the gun with the original grips on it and bought a 686. Still have the grips, but I just can;'t bear to put them on. The wood looks so much nicer.

I've had Pachmayr Presentations on my 66 and 27. Very serviceable if ugly. Recently I replaced both of them with beautiful wood "cokes" made by Forum member Kurac. I'm much happier with these on the guns, they're both pretty and functional.
