By far, the Mossberg. Have owned multiple 500s for years and I love them as a pump. Not as much as my 870 Wingmaster but they are great all around pumps

Mossy for sure! Win 1200 is a fine shotgun as well but nowhere near the versatilityof the 500. JUST MY OPINION GUYS.

Another vote for the Mossberg. (Although it doesn't seem right, in an internet forum, to have such unanimity of opinion. )

I've owned most all of them. I order of preference
870 Benelli Browning Winchester Mossberg 590 Mossberg 500 Never owned an Ithica, but have liked the ones I've handed. I would guess it would be in the top 3 if I had ever given one chance. |

Hmmm...
If it was a Benelli super nova, then I would probably say go with that one. The super novas are very fine shot guns. The standard nova, not so much. But, even if it was a super nova, I would be hesitant... while a better gun then a mossberg 500, there are not many options for customization and the few that there are, it is VERY expensive... barrels included. Both Benelli nova or Super-Nova models are more expensive then a standard Mossberg 500. So, if it is purely looking at it from a monetary point of view, trade wise, then the Benelli's are the "best" trade. The standard Nova is about on par with a Mosberg 500 quality wise (debatable, but my opinion). If the trade is for a personal use of the gun, then I would lean towards the Mossberg 500 due to the total cost of ownership for customization over the long run. I own a Mossberg 500 and I am totally happy with it |

im not a customizer. almost all of my guns are hunters or range guns. i truly dont believe a person that tacticals a gun makes the gun better but usually makes the gun worse...on a side not got an email today another guy now wants to trade the smith and wesson for his benelli super nova....why are they wanting this gun...is it because of the 2 14rd mags so they now have high cap mags

I'd take the Nova, the mossberg is a good gun though.
all high cap Nines are in demand right now, even bad ones like the S&W and high Points |

well the guy called me today and asked what price i would take for cash....told him i dont like to sell but do trade guns...he asked again what cash price i would take...shot a price of 400. he said he could buy one for 325.00 i told him that was fine then go buy it as i dont like to sell anyway just trade. he asked if i would take the 325.00 he could buy it for and anyway to make a long story short i walked away with 400.00 and to be honest aint happy cause im now a gun short in my collection. dont mind tradeing as i still have the same amount of guns as when i started but now i have to find a gun to replace it with lol
