Let me make one thing clear: "hero" comments make me uncomfortable. I am not the guy doing most of the work on the new forum or the brains or the finances behind it. So save the praise for when the new venue is up, rolling and performing as a worthy ally of TFL.

Money needed?
I will gladly pay a subscription for any site that is similar to TFL and is supported and run by former TFL'ers. Count me in Oleg!

Oleg, I'm interested.
Anything I can do to help, let me know. I'll pony up cash, of course. I have Webmaster experience, and if I can help on that end, I'll be happy to.

Oleg, Count me
In! I barely got here and now it goes away. But Rich and the moderators did a terrific job -- best gun forum on the web!
If it takes a bit of $$, I'll chip in. TFL is (was) the best bargain on the web -- and free, too, yet. Son of TFL would be worth a monthly subscription if that's what it will take (did I just say that?? Everyone around me knows what a cheapskate I am!!) Rich ran a great BBS, quit clean and square and goes out a winner! The very best to him and the mods. Let's raise up son of TFL. Matis

In theory, I suppose, we should stick to The High Road.
But every so often, it's fun to play in the swamp.

Heck, if I had a 1/2 T1 line.. I'd have a replacement up tonight! (I'm serious too.. 20 minutes and it'd be up).

I'd be more than happy to donate money or technical expertise. I do this kind of thing (database-enabled web programming) for a living. PM me if you cannot get my address through the site.

I agree with the others. If you need money, let us know. What about the idea of some type of "TFL Contributor" designation, sort of like what Eric at GT did? That would provide seed money to get it going and perhaps sustain the operation for awhile. I could even see small yearly memberships for $5 or $10. If possible, I hope this new site would be ad-free.
