Long Range Cartridge

Just wondering how many here shoot long range black powder cartridge rifles? I am going to get back into it this year. Two clubs in my state and just bought another Sharps.

I shoot BPCR midrange and silhouette. I don't know of a long range facility in this area. Friend of mine asked to shoot BP at a regular LR event and was denied. They thought he would smoke out the rest of the line, set the woods on fire, and drop 520 grain bullets on the pits like mortar bombs, I guess.

I shoot a 32" Pedersoli Sharps...

Most of my smokeless centerfire rifles stay in their respective gun safes since I bought the Sharps in 2005. I think it has something to do with the 535gr Postells and 70gr of Goex Cartridge, and the delayed clang of that big slug on the 800 yard steel buffalo targets.

(I'm not ashamed to say I bought an Italian Sharps, either...)

There are no clubs here for it , but I do own a Quigley Sharps made by ArmiSport in 45/70 ...it`s a good shooter and I enjoy loading and casting my bullets ..
I shoot by myself and enjoy every min of it .

Long range

I am from Pa. and have two clubs that I can get to within a reasonable drive (under 4 hours). I just put a tang sight on my Ped. sharps. Got it from Midway. Cheapest one out there ($200.00) and it is a beauty, fully adjustable for windage and elevation (goes out to 1200 yds), just to bad I can't see that far. I kept the silver blade on the muzzle and kept the ladder sight on as it helps in the close 100 yd shooting. Keep'em smoking.
