Serial number & refinishing concern
I want to nickel my SIG 229 frame, but the serial number appears to be laser etched and very shallow. Seems like it barely penetrates the factory finish... Will I risk compromising the serial number between the chemical stripping and refinishing?

No.
Can be restamped, too.
