shotgun shell reloads

When reloading 12 gauge shotgun shells, can you load high brass the same as low brass, is there any difference because of the in size the brass.

If they are the same inside, it doesn't matter what they are like outside. So "maybe" you can load them the same.

For shotgun reloading, hulls (cases) are pretty brand-specific. You'll want to stick with published recipes for the brand and type that you have, as interior volume and dimensions differ a lot, much more so than with with cartridge reloading.

Shotgun shells are measure by their "fired" length....

If they are all 2 3/4" hulls...and the same mfg...they will probably load the same / but the brass cups, on most presses, with high brass will not be fully resized...and that may cause some issues, especially with pump or semi-autos cycling. 2 3/4 and 3" hulls ...will not load the same...

My advice is to just get rid of the high brass....go with one brand of low brass hulls ( like Remington STS hulls ) ....find a specific recipe for that hull ( Wad, Primer and powder ).../ stay away from Winchester hulls and most of the promo shell hulls like Estate, Rio, etc...

You can't mix and match shotshell 209 primers...you have to use the one that is specific to the recipe you find ( Remington & Winchester 209 primers are not the same.../ and they don't necessarily take the same recipes in the same hull ).....
