Open sights and focus...

If you are shooting a rifle with open sights at longer distance for accuracy how do you aim?

Focus on the front sight and leave the target blurry?

or

Focus on the target and cover it with the blurred pin?

Focus on the target first, so your brain knows where it is. Then focus on the front sight, target should be blurry. Squeeze trigger.

Are you shooting at a target as in a paper target or are you shooting at an object like an old drum or a deer?

focus

Front sight, front sight, front sight........press.

Deviate your focus otherwise and accuracy suffers. You may have to run the tirgger with a bit more " authority" than a surprise break on game, movers, etc, but focus is on your front site....always.
