April Issue

in the article by Leroy Thompson on the SIG-551 on page 43 the article seems to say that Leroy had somebody buy the SIG-551 for him and ship it to Leroy's dealer's FFL. Isn't this a straw purchase that everybody talks about or did I miss something?

A straw purchase is if someone gives you money to purchase a gun for them to avoid the paperwork, i.e. a prohibited possessor. This was not a straw purchase as it went through two legit dealers and Leroy made out the 4473 at his dealer to take possesion of the rifle.
