Mossberg 410 pump. Good deal?
I picked up a Mossberg 500E pump 410 at a pawn shop today. To start my youngest daughter out on. It is just a bit long for her. But she will have grown into it soon. It is dusty but shows no evidence that it was ever used. I gave a $180 for it, out the door. Did I pay to much?

I am feeling better about it all the time! It seamed like a good price. But I had never priced one. I have that problem in pawn shops, I go in just to see what they have and something will catch my eye that I have never looked into before. I probably walk away from a lot of good deals because I just don't know.

From the prices I have seen, I think you got a good deal.
I have looked at the Mossberg .410's (and a couple Winchester 42's) several times. I would love to pick one up for rabbits and squirrels, but the cost of .410 shells always stops me. I can buy 2 boxes for my 20 ga. for one box of .410.............but I still get the feeling one will follow me home eventually.

A year or so ago, I bought from a friend of mine, a WesternField, 410, 26inch, full choke. It basically is a mossberg 500. I really like mine. Looks new. I gave him $125 dollars for it. It uses 2.5 to 3 inch shells. Only issue is on occasion it does not push the last shell out of the mag into the chamber. Anyone have an idea how to fix that?

At that price, you can afford to get the stock shortened to fit her properly 8^).
