I've read several comment on not liking the plastic safety on Mossberg 500. I know plastics have come a long way but I decided I 'needed' the metal part from Brownell's. Now for the stupid question- How do I remove the 'one-way' screw on the plastic safety?

Thanks for your input.

The way I did it was to select a well-fitting screwdriver and push down firmly. It did come out, unmarred (believe it or not).

Of course, fair warning -- I subsequently replaced it with an 870, which I have to say was (IMO) a great improvement.
