I just finished pulling about 25 .45LC rounds apart. Only took about 10 minutes.

I am only saving the powder and the brass.

The bullets will get melted down and recast.

I will reuse the powder but it will be in reduced load rounds such as the .38LC.

You are right, though that the time investment will be perhaps the hard part.

The slug for .45LC works properly.

Are you whacking that thing onto an anvil or wood block? I'd think that a concrete floor would get chipped up.

About 24 inches long.

Wood does not provide a sudden stop like steel does.

Concrete would definitely chip.

I whack mine on an anvil.

Not that I make mistakes while reloading, of course. Sometimes I just enjoy reloading so much I want to do it twice.

I load either FF or FFF Triple-7 in my .45 Colt cases. Same with my BP revolvers.... No biggie (in my guns).... Whatever I have on hand. YMMV of course. Mine are all full house too, slight compressed, no filler. In fact looking at my loading table all my chronograph tests were done with FFF. 23g by weight is what I settled on under 250g RNFP (900fps load out of 5 1/2" barrel). Nice you can use your normal powder measure with this particular powder.

Someone here can expound on peak impulse vs. sustained pressure. Explosive black powder works differently than propellant smokeless powder.

You cannot make rash and what otherwise seem rational guesses about loads and guns handling them similarly!!!

Nope, I done screwed up. Used the FFFg 777. Oh well, I will pull the balls and melt em. Save the powder for plinking. Learning by doing makes it stick in the brain.

That said, the .44Spec is right up their too... but the .45 Colt is still the king.
