Mauser M2 - Questions and a picture.

Mauser M2, never seen one in person, local shops can order them, but dont stock them.

Range officer owns one but "it's in the safe some place"

Gunshop owner: "they are good, but parts are expensive"

LEO at the gunshop: "I saw one, it looked sweet, didnt get to shoot it, but the guy was grouping them in pretty tight at 10 yd's"

Gunshop clerk: "The gun is sweet, the safety is awesome because when youre packing you just have to look down to see if it's on safe or fire, since the safety is on the back part of the gun, that is a plus since I'm nervous and paranoid and wouldnt pack chambered unless the gun has a manual safety"

Okay now it's your turn, give me your opinion on this gun, thing's i havent gotten input on yet are..

1) trigger: is it smooth? is it light? if so how light? how heavy?
2) fieldstrip: Easy? How?
3) Sights: Adjustable? fixed?
4) Spare mags: How much?

After looking at the rear sight a little closer I thnik i can see a little screw, am I right? if it is it could be a windage adjustable sight.

I was looking at one in 45acp on the used rack the other day, it is very wide and kind of large over all for a compact, the trigger was spongy but not too bad and the safety was in a awkward place IMO.

I thought about buying it just because you don’t see them too often but the grip really made me rethink it, the grip is large but that wasn't the problem it was the shape of the back strap, it's like a huge squared off hump. My hands fit just about any grip well and grip feel is usually way down on my “to buy or not to buy” check off list but that one felt pretty bad.

Sorry, but I can’t tell you anything about how it shoots.

I briefly considered the .45, before making a final choice for the Beretta mini-8045D.

The grip on the M2 is not very ergonomic. Very thick, with flat sides. The hump on the backstrap is much too large.

The trigger pull is very similar to the Glock 30 I once owned. It might be a bit smoother than the glock, but it still feels like you are springing an oversized mousetrap.

I understand that magazines run about $350 per pair, but come with a free pistol.

Find a mini-cougar D model instead.
