Leopould Magnetic Bore Sight
I plan to purchase a boresight and would like input on the Leopould Magnetic unit. How does one find the exact bore center, as the units uses no spuds? Is the spud-type more accurate? I can purchase the Leopould for $50.00 or a new BSA unit with a complete set of spuds for $45.00. Common-sense tells me the Leopould would be the better unit. Thanks for you time & input.

I brought one in to my store, and tried it on one of my own guns- as an education.
It locates itself no matter how high or low the unit is placed. You can even be a bit off on your verticle placement. In the instructions, it says that once you do the actual zeroing at the range, you should re-boresite your gun, and mark your zero on the reference grid on the instruction sheet. Then it's just a matter of checking it before each use, or each season.
